Candy Cane Express |
Description: |
N&W #41 (Formerly Chesapeake Western #11) is pulling the Candy Cane Express out of the yard, carrying parents and their little ones on a short ride up to Shaffers Crossing and back. Thanks to the many efforts of Roanoke Chapter NRHS for restoring her back to working order. After a long life on the Chesapeake Western pulling freight, this short little passenger train was a treat to see and ride again for this CW fan. |

A T6 morning @ Elkton Shop |
Description: |
Pictured here N&W #42 & CW #11 at the Elkton shop (razed) awaiting its crews to arrive for another days work. The gentleman between the two engines was CWs crane operator Prentice Gooden. Mr. Gooden served in the army during the Korean war and since passed away in January 2015. A special thanks to Prentice and all those who have served in our military. |
